Lloydminster, AB - The Lakeland College Apex Automation Rustlers and NAIT Ooks clashed on Friday November 10th in the first game of a home and home weekend series in Lloydminster. The teams were battling for 2nd place as the Ooks came in just ahead of the Rustlers. NAIT would leave Lloydminster with a 4-3 victory to stretch their lead over Lakeland for 2nd place in the division.

The Rustlers would score the first goal eight minutes into the game as Hailey Carothers would deflect a point shot from Keyra Buziak past Ooks goalie Kaitlyn Slator to give the Rustlers a 1-0 lead. NAIT would reply with 3:44 left in period one. Cassidy Shandro would score with the lone assist going to Tayler Premak. The Rustlers would respond thirteen seconds later as Claudia Lammers would score on a partial breakaway to give the Rustlers the lead again. The Ooks would reply late in period one on a power play advantage as Michaella Kibblewhite would knot the game at 2-2. Drawing the Ooks' assists were Cheyenna Harden and Kamryn Aebly. The shots on goal were tight with NAIT holding a 7-6 edge.

Period two was quieter on the scoresheet with the Ooks scoring a pair to take a two goal lead into the dressing room. Cheyenna Harden and Cassidy Shandro would have the helpers as the Ooks maintained the shot advantage, outshooting the Rustlers 10-9 in period two.

Period three saw a hungrier Rustlers squad than the first two periods, trying to close the Ooks lead. Just over one minute into the third frame, Keyra Buziak would score from the point on an unassisted Rustlers third goal. The Rustlers would press through the period, only to have Kaitlyn Slator shut the door for the Ooks. One last attempt was made with 1:24 to play in period three. A penalty was called to the Ooks, goaltender Dojahn was pulled for the Rustlers, but the 6 on 4 advantage would not materialize into a tying goal. Final shots were 8-4 for Lakeland and 23-21 overall for the game.
