SAIT Defeats Olds College 5-2 in Women's Hockey Match

Calgary, AB - In a game held on November 4, 2023, SAIT emerged victorious over Olds College with a final score of 5-2. The match took place at WinSport and started at 7:30 PM.

The scoring began in the first period, with SAIT's Kaylee Vader finding the back of the net at the 2:13 mark, assisted by Marlee Fong and Pyper Alexander. Olds College quickly responded with a goal from Avery Kendall, assisted by Kaebree Young and Anna Poole, at the 7:30 mark. However, SAIT regained the lead just over a minute later, as Emily Fries scored with an assist from Kaylee Vader at 8:43.

Moving into the second period, Olds College tied the game once again with a goal from Anna Poole, assisted by Jerika Pashniak, at 1:30. However, SAIT quickly pulled away, scoring three unanswered goals. Pyper Alexander scored at 9:44, followed by Kamryn Cloet at 11:13, and Elisa Erhardt on a power play at 16:54, assisted by Kaylan Easson.

The third period remained scoreless, resulting in a final score of 5-2 in favor of SAIT.

The three stars of the game were awarded to players from Olds College. Anna Poole received the first star with one goal and one assist, followed by Avery Kendall with one goal, and Jerika Pashniak with one assist.

In terms of penalties, Olds College accumulated 31 minutes on six infractions, while SAIT only received two minutes on one infraction.

Shots on goal were relatively close, with Olds College recording 12 shots and SAIT recording 19 shots.

Overall, SAIT's strong offensive performance and effective power play led them to a decisive victory over Olds College.
