Broncos complete weekend sweep of Rattlers

The Olds College Broncos broke open their game in the second period, as a three-goal output contributed to a second consecutive 6-1 victory over the Medicine Hat College Rattlers at the Town of Olds Sportsplex on Sunday.

Broncos player of the game Sydney Jack scored twice and added an assist for the Broncos (2-2-0), while Paisley Arntsen had a goal and an assist of her own. Teagan Walker added her first ACAC goal, while Jerika Pashniak and Tessa Knisely rounded out the Broncos' scoring. Cienna Kinghorn did her job in net, making 23 saves for the victory.

For Medicine Hat College (0-4-0), Shelby Lee had the lone goal, while Hayley Whelen made 26 saves in the Rattlers' net; Mya Girard picked up player of the game honours for the Rattlers.

Both teams will hit the road for doubleheaders; the Broncos will tangle with the Lakeland College Rustlers, beginning with a Friday night showdown at 7 p.m. and wrapping up with a 2 p.m. Saturday matinee. Meanwhile, the Rattlers will travel to Edmonton to battle the NAIT Ooks on Friday at 7 p.m., then again on Saturday at 2 p.m.
