Trojans shutout by Ooks

CALGARY, ALTA., (Jan. 10, 2020) - A stretch of four minutes in which they lost focus cost the SAIT Trojans women's hockey team.

 

The Trojans gave up three goals in less than four minutes in the opening period en route to a 3-0 loss to the NAIT Ooks Friday night in Alberta Colleges Athletic Conference (ACAC) action played at SAIT Arena.

 

"We played with them all game," said Trojans head coach Tom Molloy. "It was that bit of time in the first period where we just didn't play the way we know how that cost us tonight."

 

The loss sends SAIT to a 2-10-1 record. NAIT on the other hand, sees their record improve to 8-4-1.

 

Scoring for NAIT was Cassidy Shandro, Megan Leblanc and Bre Martin. All of the goals came on SAIT goalie Kaylin Schellenberg (2nd year, Calgary, Business Administration), who stopped 22 shots in the loss.

 

Ooks goaltender Kaitlyn Slator turned aside all 23 shots she faces to earn the shutout.

 

The teams will finish their weekend set Saturday night back at NAIT. Puck drop is set for 7pm.
