Rustlers finish regular season undefeated

In a campaign full of dominance, capping three awesome careers, it was inevitable that Senior Night would be a hit for Rustlers women's basketball.

The hosts faced Olds College, who came into the game having just one victory on the year. Lakeland, who had the chance to go undefeated in regular season play for the third time in their history, would be playing with a different starting lineup with Alana Olson sidelined for the game.

In the opening minutes, the Rustlers wasted no time getting points on the board, opening with an 8-0 run and leading 40-18 at the half. In the second, they continued to increase the lead, finishing in a 73-25 final.

Lakeland's three fifth year players (Hailey Somers, Jaden Cook and Ally Pilgrim) all had a great showing (14, 10 and 11 points respectively). Pilgrim was named POG.

It's the third undefeated regular season for the team and the first time in ACAC history where a women's basketball team has beaten every other team in the ACAC in a calendar year. The Rustlers will take their winning streak into the postseason, as they host the winner of the 4/5 matchup in the North Division next weekend. The winner of that game will head to the ACAC Final Four in Lethbridge.
