Calgary, AB - Saturday, Feb. 10: Lakeland Rustlers 67 at SAIT Trojans 54

The SAIT Trojans women's basketball team fell to the undefeated Lakeland College Rustlers on Saturday by a final score of 67-54. The Rustlers have rattled off 18 straight wins this year with just two left before the playoffs.

It was a game of two halves. SAIT mustered just 17 points in the first 20 minutes but won the second half 37-33.

Keanna Dewolfe, the Trojans' player of the game, scored 10 points off the bench on just five shots. Brook Baker added 13 with four assists and steals, and Anegor Wol scored 10 with eight rebounds.

Seven Rustlers scored in the first frame, as Lakeland grabbed an early 19-7 lead. They played lockdown defence, holding SAIT to just one made field goal in the quarter.

It was more of the same in the second, where the Rustlers scored 15 to SAIT's 10. Dewolfe scored six of the Trojans' second-quarter points.

Brook Baker shot 4-7 in the third for eight points to go along with two steals. Lakeland continued to shoot well, going 9-19, adding 23 points to take a 57-31 lead into the fourth.

SAIT fought hard to make a game of it in the final frame. They outscored Lakeland 23-10, with seven different scorers. Meghan Stagoll led the way with six points and three assists, but it wasn't enough to complete the comeback.

The Trojans will play their final game of the season next Saturday at home against the 8-10 UAA Vikings.
