Lightning cruise past Broncos in Olds

The St. Mary's University Lightning were on it from the start, defeating the Olds College Broncos 101-38 at the Ralph Klein Centre on Friday.

Andria Stitt led the offensive effort for the Lightning (11-7) with 27 points to with nine assists, five rebounds and four steals, while Adit Deng posted a double-double with 21 points and 12 rebounds, with five blocks for good measure; Jazmyn Kellogg added 16 points and six assists for St. Mary's.

For the Broncos (1-16), Meghan Swartz led the way with 18 points, seven rebounds and four steals, while Caitlin Paul added 11 points, four rebounds, three assists and three steals; Nicole Farkas contributed nine points and seven rebounds.

The Lightning were relentless from the opening tip, opening up a 35-7 lead after one quarter before expanding it to 51-11 at halftime, then carrying an 81-24 lead into the fourth.

The Lightning and Broncos will complete their weekend home-and-home in Calgary tomorrow at 6 p.m.; the matchup will be available to watch at ACACTV.ca, as well as on TELUS OptikTV channel 1998.
