Rustlers win over scrappy Huskies squad

Lakeland women's basketball finally got a push this season, but were able to weather the storm.

The Rustlers were loking for their second win over the Keyano Huskies in less that 12 hours, but faced a team playing a different level than the night before. Lakeland trailed 15-12 at the end of the first quarter, one of the first times they've actually faced a deficit this season.

AAfter the two teams entered the second half tied at 34, the Rustlers finally started to pull away, chipping steadily at the Huskies throughout the third and fourth quarters to win 76-65. Hineaupounamou Nuku won POG with 23 points for Lakeland, while Marijana Besic lead the Huskies with 20.

Keyano drops to 5-10, while the Rustlers remain unbeaten after 14 games. Next for Lakeland is a bye week, before they travel to Grande Prairie to to face the NWP Wolves.
