Lightning Beat Trojans by Landslide in Fourth Quarter

(Calgary, AB) In a thrilling women's basketball rivalry, the St. Mary's Lightning faced off against the Sait Trojans in a matchup that kept fans on the edge of their seats. Both teams showcased their skills and determination in a close fought battle.

The game opened with the Lightning taking control, displaying impressive run and gun style in the first half. However, the Trojans refused to back down, mounting a comeback in the fourth quarter and outscoring the Trojans 30 - 8. In an explosive fourth quarter showing the Lightning managed to secure the victory with a final score of 83 - 66.

Lightning's standout performer was Andria Stitt, who led her team with 19 points, and 6 assists. Jazmyn Kellog also had an exceptional game, contributing 17 points, 4 rebounds, and 1 steals. The Lightning managed to gain the lead in the fourth, thanks to their collective defensive efforts and fast-break points.

Trojan's Brooke Baker and Anger Wol put up a valiant effort, scoring 28 and 15 points, respectively. Despite a slow start, the Trojans's defense picked up in the second quarter, allowing them to gain the lead going into the half. However, the Trojans fell to the Lightning in the fourth quarter of play.

The game ended with the Lightning claiming a hard-fought victory against their longtime rival, while the Trojans showed promise with their determination in the second and third quarter of play. Lightning returns to home court next weekend to take on the Red Deer Queens on Friday, January 26th at 6PM.
