Rustlers Dominate Vikings To Stay Undefeated

CAMROSE, Alta - Looking to keep the hot streak alive, Lakeland Rustlers (11-0) visited the
University of Alberta-Augustana Vikings (4-6), Saturday night at the Augustana Gym defeating
them 85-46.

Quickly establishing their lead in the first quarter, the Rustlers gained momentum going up 25-9.
With early control of the game, Lakeland was able to extend their lead finishing the half with a
comfortable lead of 45-18. Starting the second half, Vikings put on pressure, looking for a
second half push however still couldn't catch the Rustlers as they went up 60-38. Despite their
best efforts, Vikings were unable to close the point differential as Lakeland maintained
composure and skill securing a win in their undefeated season.

Coming off the Rustlers bench, Susan Ayaa led the scoring with 17 points and 4 rebounds,
while starter Alana Olson had 12 points and 4 rebounds. On the other side of the court, Vikings
Mackenzie Mrazik led the team with 14 points and 2 rebounds.

Holding onto the top spot in the standings , Lakeland plays Keyano Huskies at home next
Friday. Meanwhile, the Vikings are looking to jump into fifth place and earn a playoff spot in the
North conference as they travel to NAIT on Friday.
