Lightning and Clippers in Close Matchup

The Lightning came out against the Clippers with a fast break layup to put the first 2 points on the board. The Clippers and Lightning exchanged basket for basket but the Lightning came out on top to end the first 10 minutes of play. The second quarter of play was no different with either team playing tough defensive possession after possession. The Clippers and Lightning continued to battle but it was the Clippers that hit a 2 point layup to end and win the quarter putting the Lighting up by only 3 points to end of the first half. Leading scorers for the Clippers were #7 Brooklyn Martens with 11 points and 6 rebounds. The Lightings #8 Ivet Hidalgo had 9 points, with 3 steals and 3 assists. The Lightning and Clippers both came out strong to start the third quarter. The Lightning ended the quarter up by one, increasing their lead to 4 to end the third. The fourth quarter had the Lightning fired up coming out strong. The Lightning increased their lead by 7 ending the game 66 to 55 against the Clippers. Players of the game were #9 Dori Sunderland for the Clippers with 4 rebounds, 2 assists, 1 steal and 11 points. The Lightning player of the game was #2 Shanah Estangel with 8 points, 14 rebounds 4 assists and 4 steals. The Lightning play the Clippers tomorrow at GCA at 1pm.
