Lakeland continues to prove its dominance in the ACAC, north and south.
The Rustlers hosted the NAIT Ooks in the first game of the final weekend series of the semester. The Ooks were a game over .500, hoping to provide the first upset against Lakeland this season.
After an early lead in the opening minutes, NAIT quickly found the home team dictating pace for the rest of the quarter to lead 21-14, winning the second 24-11. Neither team scored with regularity in the next half, as the Rustlers went on to win 65-41.
Hineaupounamu Nuku led all scorers with 15 points, while Susan Ayaa added 12 points and 9 rebounds. Mikah Reed led the Ooks with 10 points.
The two squads will do battle again tomorrow night in Edmonton at 6 PM.
