Lightning Fall to Lions in Close Fought Battle

The Lightning and Lions started off the first quarter with the Lions coming out ahead by 7 points. The Lightning went on a run towards the end of the first putting them ahead of the Lions by 2 points to end the first quarter.

The second quarter was no different as the Lions and Lightning continued to battle exchanging bucket for bucket. The Lions won the second quarter 20 to 19 but the Lightning remained up by 1 point at the half at 42 to 41. Lions leader #7 Teagan McArthur led her team with 13 points, 4 rebounds and 1 assist while Lightning leader #11 Andria Stitt ended the half with 12 points, 5 steals, 8 assists and 3 rebounds.

The second half was no different with the Lions and Lightning battling to take the lead. By the end of the third, the Lions were up by 2 points.

The fourth quarter of play started with the Lions coming out hot and the Lightning responded but the Lions took an early lead. The Lightning battled every possession trying to regain control and the lead of the game. Leader #11 Andria Stitt hit 2 fourth-quarter 3-point shots but the Lions could not miss their free throws. The Lions ended the game with 74 to the Lightning's 70.

Players of the game were #5 Makenna Young from the Lions with 5 rebounds, 1 steal and 5 points.

The Lightning #11 Andria Stitt took player of the game for the Lightning with 8 rebounds, 10 assists, 6 steals and 18 points.

The Lightning take on the Lions tomorrow at 6 pm at Ambrose.
