Trojans Fall to Ooks

On Saturday night the NAIT Ooks played the SAIT Trojans at the NAIT gymnasium. 

In the first quarter, the Ooks came out strong, taking the lead and holding it with fantastic offensive ball movement and drives from number thirteen Rory Vandermeer. The Trojans were struggling to generate offensive plays and to break through the Ooks defence, however with some fantastic outside shooting from number zero Brook Baker they were able to keep the Ooks from leaving them far behind.

Ooks led the game 22-18 after the first quarter.

In the second quarter, the Ooks continued to generate strong offensive movement with great outside shooting from number six Payton Neilson. However, the Trojans weren't far behind and managed to keep the lead within reach with fantastic shots from number zero Brook Baker. The Ooks kept their lead going into the second half.

Ooks led the game 45-39 after the second quarter.

In the third quarter, the Ooks continued to hold on to their lead with great offensive plays from number six Payton Neilson, however late in the quarter the Trojans gained momentum and were able to take the lead with huge baskets from number ten Anegor Wol.

Trojans led the game 61-58 after the third quarter.

In the fourth quarter, Ooks quickly tied the game back up as their offence seemed to be picking up momentum with solid shooting from number ten Bree Halowski. The game was neck and neck with both teams struggling to get ahead. Finally, the Ooks finally began to pull away with amazing rebounding from number ten Bre Halowski, giving the Ooks plenty of chances to score.
