TKU Eagles defeats the SAIT Trojans
Calgary, AB – Friday, November 3, 2023: TKU Eagles 88 at SAIT Trojans 53
The SAIT Trojans women's basketball team fell 88-53 to The King's University Eagles on Friday night, moving their record to 0-4 on the new season. TKU improved to 3-2 on the year with the win.
The first quarter dug SAIT a big hole they couldn't get out of, as they went down 30-9 after one. They battled the rest of the way, but it wasn't enough to mount the comeback.
#0 Brook Baker and #07 Macy Mulholland led the way for the Trojans, with 22 and 15 points respectively.
It was a hard-fought rest of the game – in the last three quarters TKU only outscored SAIT 58 to 44 – but the first quarter deficit was just too much.
Going into halftime, the score was 51-24. TKU came out of the half hot as well, as they won the third quarter 19-8.
But the Trojans didn't go down without putting up a fight, outscoring TKU in the fourth 21-18. #07 Macy Mulholland had a monster quarter, shooting 4-5 with a three pointer to put up 10 points in just five minutes. #02 Hannah Cameron also hit a three coming off the bench as the Trojans had their best stretch of the game.
The game ended 88-53, but SAIT battled hard after the first quarter, making the game a bit closer than the score would indicate.
The Trojans will be back in action tomorrow looking for their first win of the season. They play the CUE Thunder – who are 2-5 on the year – at home.
TKU will also play tomorrow, at STMU.
