Clippers sweep weekend series at MHC
Medicine Hat (October 28, 2023) – Clippers 83 at 42 Rattlers
In the second game of the weekend series, the Rattlers see themselves hosting the Briercrest Clippers, for the second and last game of the 2-game series.
In the first quatre, Briercrest brought the heat into the gym. Hope Jordens did not hesitate to put her number on the score sheet, racking up 8 points in this quarter. Breanna O'Connor of the Rattlers put up 5 points for her team, she shot 2 for 2 from the floor. At the end of the first quarter the score was 24-11 for the Clippers.
The second quatre the Rattlers showed them how they defend the snake pit, winning the quarter. Jordyn Knight went 4 for 5 from the floor, and 1 for 2 from the point for the rattlers, securing their quarter victory and encouraging her team for the second half of the game. The game 40-33 in the Clippers favor going into the third quarter.
The wheels kept on going for the third quarter. Amber Fichtner of the Clippers scored 10 points, ensuring a victorious section of the game. The Rattlers seemed to be out of steam, and unfortunately the Clippers just kept trucking along. The score of the game 64-37 for the Clippers.
In the last quarter of the series, the Rattlers put up 5 points, whilst the Clippers put up 19. Asia Wells put her name on the sheet in this time and made a staggering 3 of 4 baskets from the floor, ensuring the Briercrest Clippers head home victorious.
The Rattlers prepare to host the University of Alberta- Augustana Vikings November 18th, the Women's start at 6pm, and the Men's start at 8pm.
