Big 3rd Quarter Helps Lightning Top Rattlers

In MHC's second home game of the season, they hosted the St. Mary's University Lightning. Int eh 1st quarter the lightning came out to a hot start ending the quatrter 27-16. Lightning forward Andria Stutt came out like lightning chipping in with 10 points in the quarter. Jordyn Knight led the scoring for the Rattlers in the quarter with 8 points and added to boards.

In the 2nd quarter Andria continued to dominate as she added an additional 7 points for the Lighting on 3 of 4 shooting. Jordyn Knight continued to have the hot hand for the Rattlers as she added 6 points for the Rattlers. It was a tight quarter as the lighting took it 21-18 and lead 48-34.

The third quarter was controlled by the Lightning as they extended their lead with a 18-7 run throughout those 10 minutes. It was a rough quarter for the Rattlers on the offensive end as they shot a combined 18% from the floor and had 7 turnovers. The lightning had a balanced attack that kept the Rattlers off guard and lead 66-41 after 30 minutes.

The Rattlers came out strong in the 4th quarter lead Breanna O'Connor with 9 points I the quarter and Jaida Gold adding 7. However, it was not meant to be as the Lightning took the win on the first of back-to-back games 87-62. The Tiki Press Player of the Game was Jordyn Knight for the Rattlers and for the Lightning was Andria Stitt.
