Lightning Explosive Second Half Defence Seals the Win Over the Rattlers

The game started with the Lightning and Rattlers exchanging basket for basket. The Lightning continued to press and ended up ahead of the Rattlers by 10 points to end the first quarter. The second quarter had the Rattlers coming out strong, bringing the lead to within 4 points of the Lightning. The Lightning's strong defence kept them in the game and they commanded a 14 point lead to end the half. Jazmyn Kellog #3 ended the half with 15 points, while Rattlers #9 Jaida Gold led her team with 11 points. The second half had the Lightning come out firing, with 8 points from fast break turnovers. The Rattlers fought back but the Lightning's defence was on fire and the Rattlers eventually fell to Lightning. The Lightning soared to victory with a 90 to 60 point win over the Rattlers. The players of the game were #9 Jaida Gold with 15 points, 6 rebounds, 3 assists and 3 steals. While senior player #3 Jazmyn Kellog came out with 27 points, 2 rebounds, 3 assists and 5 steals. The Lightning ladies improve their record to 2 and 0. They will square off against the Lethbridge Kodiaks next Friday in Lethbridge at 6pm.
