Eagles win in dramatic fashion vs. Vikings

TKU Eagles took on the University of Alberta - Augustana Vikings, in their rematch of last night's match. In their previous match, the Eagles fell to the Vikings only losing by one point. The Vikings were able to come back from a halftime deficit to defeat the Eagles.

In the first quarter, the Eagles came out flying, scoring the first couple points over the Vikings. The Vikings were able to come right back, to keep the quarter close, but the Eagles were able to push a little bit harder as they finished the quarter 17-13.

In the second quarter, neither team looked to give the other any room to breathe as both teams picked up their defensive game. The Eagles were able to keep their lead as the Eagles went into the half up 26-25.

In the third quarter, the Eagles continued to push the pace, as they stepped up their offensive game. The Vikings hung in their, but the Eagles were able to build on their lead, 37-32.

In the final quarter, the defensive game of both teams were on display tonight as neither team gave the other an inch. The Vikings were able to tie the game up late, but after a clutch shot by #6 Kenna Jacobson, the Eagles were able to hold off the surging Vikings 54-52

 

The Eagles will be going into their bye week after a hard fought weekend. TKU will be back in action Feb. 21 at the NEST versus the Grande Prairie College Wolves
