Ooks ride strong first quarter to Friday night win

EDMONTON, Alta. - In a battle of two teams tied in the standings in terms of points, the Ooks came out in the first quarter determined to get off to a good start in their first divisional game after the holiday break, ultimately taking a sixteen-point lead after quarter one. That advantage carried into the second quarter, going into half-time with a fourteen-point lead 34-20.

NAIT continued to stretch the lead in the third quarter before eventually finishing off the shorthanded Vikings in the fourth quarter with an eleven-point victory.

Of importance on Friday night was the Ooks three-point shooting, outscoring the Vikings by nine, as well as turnovers, with NAIT forcing twenty-nine on the night due to some strong, swarming defense.

Friday's contest pushed NAIT's win streak to five games and avenged two early season losses to the Vikings.
