Kodiaks edge Eagles in five sets

The Lethbridge College Kodiaks will play one more day, as they defeated The King's University Eagles in five sets (22-25, 25-17, 26-24, 21-25, 15-10) in the first consolation matchup at the 2024 ACAC Men's Volleyball Championship in Olds.

Paul Dionne was once again a force for the Kodiaks, as he finished with 18 kills and seven digs, while Shaye Wall (13 kills, one ace) and ACAC South All-Conference outside Nolan Moes (10 kills, three blocks, one ace) each added 14 points; Wall also contributed 10 digs while Moes added six. ACAC South Rookie of the Year Kohlbe Anderson also got into double digits with 11 points (10 kills, one ace) and three digs.

For the Eagles, ACAC North All-Conference outside Kaiden Aceron matched Dionne's 18 points (13 kills, three aces, two blocks) and added eight digs, while Matthew Milne added 14 points of his own (13 kills, one block) with four digs, and Tanner Piers chipped in with eight points (six kills, one ace, one block) and four digs.

The Kodiaks now await the winner of the second consolation matchup between the Briercrest College Clippers and championship host Olds College Broncos for the fifth-place game at 1 p.m. tomorrow, while the Eagles season is now complete.
