Rustlers sweep Wolves in 1st matchup

Lakeland took care of business on their home court Friday evening against the NWP Wolves.

The weekend was a big one for both teams, with Lakeland fighting with NAIT and King's for the second seed in the North Division, while the Wolves needed wins to have a chance at fourth place. In the first set, the Rustlers were hot offensively, scoring at will out of the backrow in a 25-16 win.

In the second, the Wolves shoed they weren't ready to quit, leading the Rustlers by as many as four late in the set. However, Lakeland regrouped and executed down the stretch, winning 25-23. That momentum carried into the third, where the Rustlers were dominant on offence again, as well as aggressive at the service line, in a 25-17 win.

Brock Tomyn led the home team with 11 kills and 5 service aces.
