Men's Volleyball Huskies sweep away Rustlers in weekend opener

Fort McMurray, Alta. (January 19, 2024) -Lakeland College Rustlers 0 Keyano Huskies 3 (25-19, 25-20, 25-16)

The Keyano Huskies Men's Volleyball team swiftly took a battle fo the top two teams in the Alberta Colleges Athletic Conference's North Division, winning a straight sets battle Friday at the Syncrude Sport & Wellness Centre. 

João Cunha and Athus Silva dominated with 12 and 10 kills respecitvely. Silva picked up three kills to Cunha's two on the night. Fellow Brazillian Rafael Parada added eight digs, five kills and two blocks on the night.

Noah Gagné compiled 35 assists in the straight-sets victory, also collecting a pair of digs. Anderson King led the team in digs with nine. 

Brock Tomyn led the visiting Rustlers with five kills. Keifer Sinclair collected 17 assists and four digs in the match.

The two teams will reconvene at the Syncrude Sport & Wellness Centre Saturday at 3:00 p.m. for the rematch.
