Trojans fight in 5 sets against Lions

CALGARY, AB- Trojans fall to the Lions in a hard-fought 5 sets against the Ambrose Lions, after a tough 3-0 loss on Friday night.

In a thrilling and closely contested match, the SAIT Trojans Men's Volleyball team displayed resilience but ultimately fell short, losing 3-2 to the Ambrose Lions. The Lions took the initial lead with convincing victories in the first two sets, 25-16 and 26-24. Undeterred, the Trojans fought back, securing the next two sets with scores of 25-22 and 25-20, setting the stage for a tense fifth set. Despite a valiant effort, the Trojans couldn't maintain their momentum, and the Lions emerged victorious with a 15-11 win in the final set. #15 Nikita Marchenkov showcased his prowess with 14 kills for the Lions, while SAIT's #1 Jaxson Thys led the Trojans with an impressive 18 kills, earning him the well-deserved Player of the Game honours. For the Lions, #6 John Revilla's all-around performance, contributing 12 kills and 8 digs, earned him the Player of the Game accolade.
