Ooks get Redemption Against Keyano Huskies

On Saturday afternoon, the NAIT Ooks took on the Keyano Huskies again, seeking redemption from the previous night and the NAIT gymnasium loss. 

In the first set, the Huskies dominated the net with multiple huge blocks from number nine Preston Yale. As the Huskies led the set 9-5, the Ooks called their first time-out of the match. Coming out of the time-out, Ooks had found new life with kills from number fifteen Shae McIntyre and nine Ross Bishop. However, the Huskies held onto their lead, winning the set 25-22, leading the match 1-0. 

Ooks, in the second set, were quick to take the lead, shutting down the Huskies attempts with great blocks from number nine and ten; however, the Ooks struggled to maintain their lead, and the Huskies managed to catch up and take the lead with incredible hits from number fourteen Athus Silva. The set was neck and neck, with neither team letting up; however, the Huskies won the battle for the win, taking the set 29-27 and led the match 2-0. 

Yet again, Ooks grabbed the lead early in the third set, with fantastic hits from number twelve Finn Howard. This left the Huskies struggling to keep up as they called the first time-out of the set. The Ooks were shutting down the Huskies at the net with massive blocks from number seven Joshua Watson and coverage from number one Mason Gorski. Ooks were dominating against the Huskies both offensively and defensively, taking the set 25-14. 

In the fourth, Ooks started strong, taking the lead with fantastic hits and blocks from number nine Ross Bishop. The Huskies called a time-out as the Ooks led the set 15-10 and were on a streak. Coming out of the time-out, the Huskies began to close in on the Ooks with great hits from number one Rafael Lima. However, the Ooks maintained their lead with massive back-row attacks from number fifteen Shae McIntyre. The Ooks took the set 25-21, tieing the match up 2-2

The fifth set was neck and neck, but the Ooks pulled ahead with huge kills from number nine Ross Bishop. As the Huskies were down 5-2, they called a time-out. However, the Ooks continued dominating the net, and the Huskies struggled to break through the Ooks defence. But the Huskies weren't out yet and slowly began to close the distance. The match neared its end. The Huskies managed to tie up the score. Despite their efforts, the Ooks prevailed and took the set 17-15. The Ooks won 3-2 sets.
