Broncos to Rattlers in Five Set Thriller

It was an electric first set in the SnakePit in the opener of a doubleheader weekend between the hometown Rattlers and the visiting Olds Broncos. Sean Vanderzee totalled eight assists in the first set, part of the 30 he totalled throughout the match. Keanen Hamilton, from the Rattlers, had three assists in the opening set, totalling thirty-eight in the match. Olds won the first set 25-21.

In the second set of Make Some Noise for Mental Health weekend, Bronco Matheus Franca had four kills.  He finished with nine in the match. On the home team, Jordan McKee had five kills in the set and ended with a total of 10 in the match. The set ended with a score of 25-21 in favour of Olds College.

Matheus Franca of Olds College got three digs in the middle set finishing the match with a total of ten.  While  Keanen Hamilton ended the middle set with four kills. The Rattlers won set three 25-22.

Nathan Chernik totalled three service aces, and Joel Lehr put one on the board for a total of four for the Rattler in set number four. Strahinja Lazarevic of the Broncos totalled two during the fourth set. With a set score of 25-23 that favours the Rattlers, that forced a deciding fifth set.

Olds College overpowered the Medicine Hat College Rattlers winning the set 15-8. The rematch is set for Saturday the 25th in the SnakePit.
