Rustlers fall in straight sets to Lions

After the high of the most exciting match of the season, the Lakeland Rustlers have to deal with the low of their most disapointing result so far.

Lakeland hosted Ambrose in their second match of the weekend, hoping to build on a trhilling 5-set victory the night before. Instead, the Lions were the ones who came away with the victory, out-hitting and out-serving the home side right from the start. Set scores were 25-15, 25-22, 25-18.

Ambrose was led by two great offensive performances, with right-side Noah Verhoeff scoring 13 kills to win Player of the Match and left-side Nikita Marchenkov adding 14. Elijah Raynor was POG for Lakeland with 5 kills and a service ace.

The Lions are back in Calgary this weekend, while the Rustlers have one last home match before the Christmas break, where they host the Augustana Vikings on Saturday.
