Broncos in Four vs Wolves

The Olds College Broncos overcame a slow start to pick up a four-set victory over the Northwestern Polytechnic Wolves (17-25, 26-24, 25-18, 25-11) at the Ralph Klein Centre on Saturday.

Olds College (4-5) got contributions throughout the lineup, headlined by a 19-point performance from Matheus Franca (12 kills, four aces, three blocks), which he paired with 10 digs. Aidyn Phillips posted 11 points (eight kills, two blocks, one ace) and five digs of his own, while Reed Grusing also got into double digits with 10 points (seven kills, three blocks).

Justice Bigstone paced the offensive attack for the Wolves (4-5) with 11 points (seven kills, four blocks) and three digs, while Josh Dumont added nine points (six kills, two aces, one block), and Kaden Bennett posted seven points on five kills and two aces.

The Broncos will now head south for a double-header with the Medicine Hat College Rattlers to wrap up their pre-Christmas schedule; the two sides will square off on Friday, Nov. 24 at 8 p.m., and again on Saturday, Nov. 25 at 3 p.m. Both matches will be available on ACACTV.ca, as well as on TELUS OptikTV channel 1998.

Meanwhile, the Wolves are now on their Christmas break.
