Kings beat Ooks in Three

On Saturday night, the NAIT Ooks played against the Red Deer Polytechnic Kings at the NAIT gymnasium.

In the first set, the Kings took the lead early with fantastic kills from number eighteen, Dillion Gauci. The Ooks were struggling to gain any momentum and as their errors began to stack up. However, after the Ooks took a timeout, things began to change, and the Ooks slowly began to close the gap with hits from number eighteen, Aiden Wright.

Kings won the set 25-21 and led the match 1-0 after the first set.

In the second set, the Ooks took an early lead 6-1 which forced the RDP Kings to take a timeout. Despite these efforts the Kings were able to tie it up. However, the Ooks wouldn't let go of their lead with great offensive kills by number nine Ross Bishop. Kings continued to try and take the lead with kills and offensive plays from number eleven Colby Nemeth. The set was neck and neck with neither team able to break away. Eventually, the Kings finally managed to take the lead from the Ooks winning the set.

Kings won the second set 25-18 and led the match 2-0.

In the third set, Ooks came out strong, taking the lead with a fantastic offence as well as defensive plays. The Ooks, however, didn't hold the lead long, with the Kings taking it with a well-placed tip from number three Tom Wass. The set was back and forth between the two teams. The Ooks finally began to pull away from the Kings, winning impressive rallies with big hits from number five Wyatt Turnbull. However, the Kings tied up the game after trailing and took the lead, winning the set.

Kings won the set 27-25 and won the match 3-0
