Briercrest bounces back for weekend split

The Briercrest College Clippers salvaged a weekend split on the road, defeating the Olds College Broncos in four sets (25-18, 22-25, 25-20, 25-23) at the Ralph Klein Centre on Saturday.

The Clippers (3-1) got a strong performance out of player of the game Jackson Anderson, who finished with 13 kills, two aces and two blocks to provide a powerful complement to Karym Coleman and his game-high 21 kills. Meanwhile, the duo of Tanner Bean and Adam Revet were strong at the net, with Bean adding five blocks onto six kills and Revet posting three blocks to go with 10 kills.

On the Olds College (1-2) side, Aidyn Phillips led the charge with 14 kills, three blocks and an ace, while Reed Grusing chipped in with six kills and three aces to go along with 10 digs. Player of the game Strahinja Lazarevic also had a presence at the net with a pait of kills and a number of key net jousts.

Briercrest heads back to Saskatchewan to face Medicine Hat College on Friday at 8 p.m., while the Broncos will meet the SAIT Trojans, also on Friday at 8 p.m.

Both matches will be broadcast live on ACACTV.ca, as well as on channel 1998 on TELUS OptikTV.
