Ooks Sweep Thunder in Home Opener

On Friday night at the NAIT gymnasium, the Ooks took on the Concordia Thunder in their home opener. The Ooks won the game 3-0. 

In the first set, Ooks came out soaring, with huge blocks from number fifteen, Shae McIntyre. The Ooks dominated the net, effectively shutting out any of the Thunder's. As the Thunder struggled, they called a timeout. The Thunder finally broke through the Ooks' defence with a great block from number fourteen, Logan Kranford; however, the Ooks still won the set.

Ooks won the set 25-11, leading the match 1-0

The second set was neck and neck, with each team trading points back and forth. But the Ooks eventually took the lead as the Thunder's errors began to pile up. Ooks won the set with a massive block from number nine Ross Bishop.

Won the set 25-22, leading the match 2-0

In the third set, The Ooks continued to have incredible hits and great offence, with great hits from number twelve Finn Howard. Thunder continued to put up a fight with some great blocks from number fifteen Kurt Niehoff, but it wasn't enough, and Ooks took the set.

Ooks won the set 25-17, winning the match 3-0

The players of the game were Ooks number fifteen, Shae McIntyre and Thunder number seven Kai Rosnau.
