Clippers Double Down on SAIT with Back-to-Back Sweeps

Clippers Double Down on SAIT with Back-to-Back Sweeps Fresh off Friday night's dominant effort against the SAIT Trojans, the Briercrest Clippers men's volleyball squad ably defended their home court once again, triumphing in straight sets 25-19, 25-11, 25-15.

Karym Coleman featured his skills on offense to give the hosts an early lead, while SAIT counted their points on wipes off blocks and miscues by the Clippers. While the bulk of the action consisted in sideouts, Briercrest eventually gained separation late in the set as Clipper middle Adam Revet took control.

The teams traded errors to start set two but the Clippers again pulled away, courtesy of setter Jeremy Martens' skilful serve. Coleman and Revet walled off the SAIT attack on SAIT's strong side. Clipper outside hitter Judah Matthies sent the crowd into raptures of delight with a monstrous solo block on SAIT's Gustavo Machado, and Coleman powered the hosts home with his potent serve.

The third set featured more rapid exchanges, but skilled execution rather than miscues accounted for the scoring. Martens again took up the challenge to lift his squad on serve, and his teammates responded to his leadership, securing the match with little trouble.

On the strength of four aces, six digs, and ten kills, Karym Coleman earned Player of the Game recognition for Briercrest. The SAIT Trojans were led by Logan Williams, who recorded four digs, seven kills, and two blocks.
