NAIT Ooks Defeat the Lethbridge Kodiaks at ACAC Soccer Provincials

Edmonton, AB - The NAIT Ooks defeated the Lethbridge Kodiaks by a score of six to zero to advance to the
ACAC Semi-Finals. 

It was a competitive game from the start as both teams came out of the game strong in a win or go home Quarter-Final matchup Thursday at the Scottish Dome. 

The opening chance came for the Kodiaks in the 10th minute from Jaxon Uhl but the shot went just wide right. 

The Kodiaks kept that offensive momentum going but they were not able to pass the Ooks  defense. 

Neither side could pull ahead in the tight first half until the 34th minute when Markus Sperling sliced it in off a great pass from Chosen Jones to open the scoring for the Ooks. 

Sperling scored again two minutes later to give the Ooks a 2-0 lead. The first half came to a close with the Ooks leading the Kodiaks by a score of 2-0. 

The Ooks led in multiple statistical categories outshooting the Kodiaks 11-3 and 5-2 with shots on goal. 

NAIT brought there momentum into the second half and almost got the goal from Roldoflo Aguuilar-Longo, but he couldn't get it past GoalKeeper Trey Lukye. 

Lethbridge started to getting the ball in good scoring positions but Ooks Goalkeeper Connor Short was not letting anything past him. 

In the 60th minute, Ooks Jivan Aulakh was kept out by the frame of the goal. Five minutes later, Beni-Axel put the Ooks up by a hatrick off the incredible shot that just got past goalie Trey Lukye. 

Javier Cassie added another goal to their stat sheet with a incredible shot in the 84th minute.

The Kodiaks last ditch charge came to no avail.

The NAIT Ooks advance to Semifinals with the win by a score of 6-0.
