TKU Eagles defeat Red Deer Polytechnic Kings in the Quarter final match at ACAC Soccer Provincials

Edmonton, AB - The King's University Eagles defeated the Red Deer Polytechnic Kings in the ACAC Quarterfinals by a score of 3 to 2 to advance to the Semi-Finals. 

In the first eight minutes, the Eagles had some great scoring chances which were neutralized by the Kings' defence.

The best chance came at the 7:42 mark which was saved by goalkeeper Brian Murray.  

At the ninth-minute mark, the Eagles opened the scoring with a great goal coming from Noah Bilodeau off a great pass from Matheus Miliani Santos. 

Grant Johnson almost levelled the score for the Kings at the 22-minute mark but was kept out by the frame of the goal. 

The Eagles widened their lead to two after Noah Leggo's shot sneaked past Brian Murray 34 minutes into the game. The Eagles led 2-0 against the Kings at the end of the first half. 

The Kings had the upper hand in multiple statistical categories as they led 9-6 in shots as well as shots on goal at 8-3. The best opening chance in the second half came from the Kings but the shot went high and wide. 

Both teams made their first substitutions of the game at the 65-minute mark in hopes of breaking the game open.

The second half was a battle with Noah Bilodeau adding to the Eagles' scoring to make it a 3-0 game with 22 minutes left in the Quarter-Final battle. 

The Kings then pulled on back with Ajdin Sarcevic as he was able to get back Kings goalie Scott Hornbeck to bring it within a two-goal game. 

The Kings added another goal at the 79th minute off the feet of Aidin Sarcevic. 

The late push was just not enough as the King's University took the game by a score of 3-2 and will face Keyano in the ACAC Semi-Finals.
