Ooks Battled Their Hearts Out To Stay Alive Winning 2-1 Against The Eagles.

All good things must come to an end, the NAIT Ooks finished their final game of the regular season today at St. Albert Soccer Association against the The Kings' University Eagles.

After having a challenging season due to injuries, NAIT Ooks came in with a much needed energy as they opened up the scoring from a header of #13 Hossie Kifle at the 7th minute mark of the first half. Eagles being on the top of the standings for the North division did not let it deter their confidence as they increased their physicality to even the score. Both teams played really well as the first half winds down, the battle of two North division powerhouses really rev up the crowd to cheer for their respective teams. The first half ended in a 1-0 score for the NAIT Ooks.

Badly needed a win to keep their championship hopes alive, the NAIT Ooks started their second half on track as at the 55th minute of the match a magnificent goal was put in by #4 Felix Muteyumungu to extend their lead 2-0 against the Eagles. Heading into the championship weekend everyone can feel that this game has the playoff type of atmosphere as both teams played their best from both sides of the field. Running their offense and defending the opposite teams, Ooks and Eagles showed their best efforts to gain momentum on their side. Eagle's effort did not let them down as #15 Noah Bilodeau scored at the 81st minute of the game to make it 2-1. Congratulations to NAIT Ooks' graduating players #12 Javier Cassie and #23 Rodolfo Aguilar-Longo for their outstanding careers.
