Men's Soccer Huskies win crucial game against Rustlers

In a must-win setting, the Keyano Huskies Men's Soccer team delivered with a 2-1 win against the visiting Lakeland College Rustlers.

The Huskies opened the scoring off an own goal in the 11th minute as James Bartha banked the ball off a defender and into the net. In the 56th minute, Tano Torchia doubled the lead as the Huskies took full control of the match. 

A late strike from Gavin Quinlan brought the Rustlers back into the game and made the final 10 minutes interesting, but the Huskies held firm to secure the three points.

Despite the win, things are still tricky to navigate in the ACAC North Division for Men's Soccer. For the Huskies, their math is simple on Sunday with them requiring only a win or a draw to secure a playoff spot on their terms. A loss would require help from the final result of The King's University Eagles and NAIT Ooks' battle Sunday. 

The Huskies and Rustlers will clash at Shell Place Sunday afternoon at 2:00 p.m.
