Lakeland wins with signature performance from Korkis

Rustlers men's soccer had one of the greatest offensive outputs in the history of their program, if not the ACAC.

Lakeland hosted Portage in their second last home game of the year and immediately jumped out to a huge lead in the first half, thanks to rookie striker Kristian Korkis. The first year from Saskatoon scored five times in less than 35 minutes, giving his team a 5-2 lead at the half.

A successful penalty from Nathan Tran in the second sealed the victory for the Rustlers, who sweep their season series with Portage. Midfielder Hani Tekheste added three assists.

With the win, Lakeland improves to 7-2 on the year. They host NAIT Sunday in a showdown that will help shape the North Division playoff picture.
