The Rustlers weren't able to capitalize on many scoring chances, but the one they did was enough.

Lakeland hosted Northwestern Polytechnic in the first of two games on the weekend in Lloydminster. Later in the first half, a tremendous strike from Hani Tekheste, the most recent ACAC nominee for CCAA Athlete of the Week, put the Rustlers ahead by one.

In the second half, there was a series of chances from Lakeland, but Evan Doerkson held his ground in spectacular fashion. Eventually, Lakeland ran out the clock and took the victory 1-0.

Drew Chesters and Doerkson were the respective Players of the Game. The win improves the Rustlers record to 4-2-0.

Tomorrow's rematch is at 2:00 PM at VLA Fields.
