Trojans defeat Rattlers

The SAIT Trojans Men's Soccer Team put on a show at home on Saturday, putting up 6 goals in a dominating 6-0 shutout win over the Medicine Hat College Rattlers. The win pushed the Trojans to an undefeated record of 4-0.

The Trojans got off to an early lead after a goal from #14 Senay Haile following a bad turnover near the MHC goal, and just 6 minutes later scored another courtesy of #8 Taiyo Okawa. Medicine Hat tried to push back, but after another 10 minutes #8 Taiyo Okawa doubled down, scoring his second goal of the first half with the assist going to #12 Tes David.

Going into halftime leading 3-0 could have led the Trojans to ease up, but the complete opposite happened. Just 4 minutes into the second half, #13 Jon Ingram scored his first of 2 goals to give the Trojans a 4-0 lead. Then, 5 minutes after subbing into the game in the 63rd minute, #5 Joao Cintra scored another for SAIT.

#13 Jon Ingram added his second of the match late in the game to expand the Trojan's lead to 6 in what would be the final goal of the game for either side. Goalkeeper Oliver Allen of SAIT stopped the 3 shots he faced from MHC, giving SAIT the 6-0 victory.

The Trojans Men's soccer team will be back in action next Saturday, facing off against the Lethbridge College Kodiaks, another undefeated team. The Trojans know how big of a game next weekend's is and will be ready to give it their all next week in Lethbridge.
