In the first half the Eagles bombarded the Rustles with a plethora of attacks to which the Rustlers held strong against waiting for a counter attack and came up close in a few attacks. The first half would remain 0-0 as based on the two teams' styles, it could be anyone's game.

The Eagles came close to opening up the game were denied by the crossbar as #19 Matheus Milani just couldn't beat the pipe off a corner kick. However the Eagles drew blood in the 54th minute as #12 Abe Jones played a give and go along the opponent's endline to #11 Razak Mugarwa and earned space to score a back post, to break the deadlock. The Rustlers aimed to remain dangerous, yet the Eagles were able to thwart off further Rustler attacks. The game concluded as a 1-0 victory for the Eagles.
