Ooks Fall to Thunder and 2024 Season Comes to an End

Tonight's game saw the visiting Concordia Thunder take on the NAIT Ooks in game 3 of their first-round playoff matchup. Both teams were trying to keep their seasons alive with a win tonight, sending them to the second round of the ACAC playoffs. The Thunder were able to get on the scoreboard first with a goal coming from #27 Tyler Schendel with the assists by #14 Matthew Reidy and #12 Isaac Leik. The Thunder kept up their attack by having double the number of shots in the opening period.

The Thunder lead 1-0 after the 1st period.

The Ooks came out of the dressing room flying with intentions of tying this game up sooner rather than later. They were able to do so thanks to a goal from #26 Eric Lacombe. The Thunder were able to respond to the Ooks goal by quickly getting their lead back. The Thunder goal was scored by #27 Tyler Schendel with the assist by #16 Hunter Leslie. The Thunder continued to keep their foot on the gas pedal adding another goal in the final minute of the period. The goal was scored by #19 Zachery Carlson with the assist by #10 Griffen Ryder.

With their season on the line, the Ooks were doing everything possible to tie this game up. Thunder goalie #1 Ashton Billesberger made multiple great saves to begin the period, keeping their two-goal lead. With less than five-minutes to go, the Ooks were given a golden chance to inch closer with a powerplay. The Ooks were unable to capitalize on their opportunity. The Thunder were able to hold on and win the series 2-1 advancing them into next week semifinals.

The Thunder won 3-1.
