NAIT Ooks Welcome the visiting Korea University Tigers

In today's much anticipated matchup, the visiting Korea University Tigers took on the NAIT Ooks. The exhibition match was the second on the ACAC tour by the Korean University Tigers as they tour across Alberta and Southern Saskatchewan. The Tigers are touring the ACAC in the hopes of joining the league in 2024.

The pace to start the game was electric with both teams were flying around the ice in the opening minutes. The physical play resulted in two early powerplays for the Tigers. While they were able to able apply great pressure, Ooks keeper #33 Ryley Osland was able to shut them down. After killing both penalties, the Ooks were able to score the first goal of the game coming from #22 Kye Whillans with assists coming from #13 Noah Lamb and #9 Bjorn Robinson. The Ooks continued to apply the pressure on the Tigers goalie, resulting in another goal. The goal coming from #9 Bjorn Robinson with the assist from #26 Eric Lacombe. The high paced play continued until the final buzzer for the first period.

The Ooks lead the Korea University Tigers 2-0 after the first period.

The second period followed the same script as the first with both teams coming out of the dressing room with fast paced physical play. Both teams traded shots throughout the first half of the period. Back-to-back powerplays provided the Ooks with multiple scoring opportunities, but the Tigers keep #34 Jung Ho Ha was determined not to let another past. The physical play resulted in both teams have multiple penalties throughout the period. Neither team was able to capitalize, resulting in the same score after forty minutes.

The Ooks lead the Korea University Tigers 2-0 after the second period.

The third period saw the Ooks strike early with #26 Eric Lacombe netting a goal with help from #9 Bjorn Robinson. The Tigers continued to apply the pressure on the Ooks goalie finally getting one past eight minutes into the period.  The Tigers goal was scored by #50 with assists coming from #19 and #7. The Tigers kept the pressure up throughout the period resulting in several scoring chances but the Ooks keeper was able to keep the door shut. The Ooks were able to add a late insurance goal from #20 Jackson Hassman.

The final score was 4-1 for the NAIT Ooks.
