Ooks Win at Home

Saturday afternoon, the NAIT Ooks men's hockey faced off against the Concordia University Thunder. The game was high-scoring between the Thunder and Ooks, with nine goals scored. The Ooks take home the win 8-1. 

In the first period of play, the Ooks and Thunder battled hard against one another. For the first fifteen minutes of the period, the Thunder controlled most of the play down in the Ooks zone. Ooks' goalie, Ryley Osland, stood tall in the net, making numerous saves. The Ooks scored first, with Eric Lacombe putting the puck in the net, and the assist went to Bjorn Robinson. Ooks' Rintaro Mashio scored the second and third goals for the Ooks less than a minute apart. Seconds before the period ended, the Ooks scored again, with Kye Whillans scoring and the assist going to Ethan Leyer. The Ooks led 4-0 after the first period over the Thunder. 

The Thunder came out looking for redemption in the second period, while the Ooks looked to extend their lead. The Ooks extended their lead with Keegan Tiringer scoring and the assist going to Leyer. Noah Lamb scored the Ooks' sixth goal, with the assist going to Leyer again. After the second period, Ooks led 6-0 over the Thunder. 

In the third period, the Thunder were the first to score, with Dalon Wilton scoring and the assist going to Lukas Konashuk. The Ooks responded with a goal of their own from Morgan Poirier, with the assist going to Robinson. Ooks' Brophy Dunne scored his team's eighth goal of the afternoon, with the assist going to Kenyon Nyman. The Ooks won the game 8-1.
