Vikings defeat Trojans!

On the tail end of the reading break at Augustana, the Vikings face off against the Trojans in a playoff game! The arena fills up very quickly as puck drop approaches. The fans of both teams are awaiting the final result of the game.

The first period ends with a score of 0-0 due to great defense and saves from the goalies. 

The game could end up either way as the teams take the ice for the second period. The Vikings #22 Travis Mayan scores the first goal of the game unassisted. The momentum continues throughout the second causing Trojans to work hard to stay in the game. Trojans #20 Mark Drohan scores a goal to keep the Trojans in the game! He was assisted by #23 Parker Evans-Campbell and #15 Rock Ruschkowski. The second period ended with a tied score of 1-1. 

The fans on the edges of their seats and eyes glued on the game, they watched as the players took the ice for the third and final period of the game. The game winning goal was scored by Vikings #22 Travis Mayan. It was assisted by #28 Lukas Biensch and #14 Ryan Groom. 

Trojans goalie #31 Kyle Dumba made a total of 33 saves, and Vikings goalie #31 made a total of 37 saves in the entire game. The final score of the game was 2-1 for the hometown Augustana Vikings! The series is tied 1-1 for the teams with game 3 happening 5 pm tomorrow at SAIT. 

Player of the Game was awarded to the visiting Trojans #20 Mark Drohan and the hometown Vikings #22 Travis Mayan.
