MBB | Kodiaks Roar to victory against the Thunder

February 16, 2024 - Kodiaks maintain control in their 102-83 win against the Concordia Thunder 

The Kodiaks faced off against the Thunder, setting the court ablaze with their impressive performance. The first quarter saw the Kodiaks taking an early lead, with #11 Dray Walburger leading the charge with an impressive 11 points. Despite a valiant effort from Thunder's #10 Nick Gibb, who managed to score 8 points, the Kodiaks maintained their momentum, ending the quarter with a score of 29-18.

As the second quarter unfolded, the Kodiaks extended their lead to a formidable 21 points. Although the Thunder attempted to narrow the gap, they couldn't quite bridge the distance. Noteworthy performances from Kodiaks' #21 Declan Peterson and Thunder's #13 O'Ryan Wallace kept the crowd on the edge of their seats. By halftime, the Kodiaks were in command with a score of 53-36. 

In the third quarter, the Thunder continued their steady pursuit, gradually closing in on the Kodiaks. However, the Kodiaks held firm, refusing to relinquish their lead. With strategic plays and unwavering determination, they maintained their advantage, ending the quarter with a score of 72-61.

As the final quarter commenced, the Kodiaks remained resolute, determined to finish strong. Though the Thunder fought fiercely to keep pace, they were unable to overtake the Kodiaks. Despite Thunder's #7 Yaadvir Dhaliwal's impressive 15 points overall, the Kodiaks' #12 Rhett Lewis countered with 13 points of his own. With the crowd roaring with every basket, the Kodiaks sealed the victory with a final score of 102-83.
