Men's Basketball Huskies secure 50-point margin of victory over Broncos

Fort McMurray, Alta. (February 16, 2024) - Olds College Broncos 54 Keyano Huskies 104

The Keyano Huskies Men's Basketball team turned on the jets in the second half, powering past the Olds College Broncos by a 104-54 final at the Syncrude Sport & Wellness Centre in Fort McMurray, Alta. 

Efosa Omorogbe's 20-point performance, featuring six three-point shots, led the way on the night. Nahshon Hurst's 18-point performance, DJ Haynes' 17 points, as well as 16 points from Evan Meyer and 11 from Oemechi Williams also featured for the victorious Huskies. By the final buzzer, the host Huskies had shot 46.1% (41-for-89) from the field, making 15 three-point shots along the way. They also went 7-for-8 from the foul line. 

After winning the first quarter 22-16 and the second 21-14, they put things into high gear with a 25-12 third quarter and 36-12 second quarter. That took a 13-point margin of victory to 26 points by the end of the third quarter and 50 by the end of the fourth.

Meyer also collected 10 rebounds for the double double. 

Gurech Gurech led his visiting Broncos with 15 points, one more than Aidan Walsh. Logan Bennett also finished in double digits, scoring 12 points.
