Lightning Weather Tough Test

In a pivotal matchup with significant playoff implications, the Lakeland Rustlers clashed with the St. Mary's Lightning in a fiercely contested battle at the Lightning's gym in Glenmore Christian Academy. With both teams vying for supremacy in their respective divisions, the tension in the air was palpable.

Despite a valiant effort from the Rustlers, led by the indomitable performance of Andre McFadden, who delivered 26 points, managed to keep the game within reach in the first half. But Lightning showcased their resilience and determination. Caleb Jipps, who fought through shooting struggles to contribute 25 points, the game remained fiercely competitive.

However, it was Johnpaul Okodua who stole the spotlight for the Lightning, earning the title of player of the game with a dominant display of 19 points and an impressive 19 rebounds, anchoring his team's victory.

The evening held a special significance as the Lightning paid tribute to ACAC inductee Montana Smith before the game, adding a touch of reverence to the proceedings.

As the final buzzer sounded, the Lightning emerged triumphant with a resounding 95-77 win, propelling them forward with newfound confidence and momentum as they prepare for a crucial showdown with the first-place team in the north, the Keyano Huskies, tomorrow.
