Lethbridge defeats SAIT

Calgary, AB - Saturday, Feb. 3: Lethbridge Kodiaks 95 at SAIT Trojans 92

The 14-4 SAIT Trojans men's basketball team fell to the Lethbridge Kodiaks in a nailbiter on Saturday, 95-92. With the win, the Kodiaks improved to 11-6 on the season and 8-2 in their last 10.

The Trojans were led by Akoi Yuot and Marcus Masters, who scored 28 and 24 respectively, along with Kuol Kuol who added 18 points, seven rebounds and four assists.

Drayden Walburger, Lethbridge's player of the game, dominated with 34 points on just 15 shots. He also added nine boards and three assists. Every Kodiak starter finished in double figures, with Mason Hoffman also adding 24 points, five assists and two steals.

The game was tight the whole way. At the half, SAIT led by one point, 45-44. Heading into the fourth, the game was tied.

Drayden Walburger came up clutch for the Kodiaks in the final quarter, scoring a massive 15 points to help Lethbridge come away with the win. Down by as many as seven in the quarter, the Kodiaks scored six straight points in the final two minutes to grab a late lead that they wouldn't give up.

The Trojans will host Keyano College and Lakeland College next weekend, looking to gain some momentum heading into the playoffs.

Lethbridge will head to NAIT to face the Ooks on Friday before hitting Northwestern Polytechnic on Saturday.
