Ooks Win Over Visiting Augustana

On Friday night the NAIT Ooks took on the Augustana Vikings at the NAIT gymnasium

The Vikings established themselves an early lead with great outside shooting from Cooper Nelson. Ooks were struggled to defend against the Vikings constant drives. However

Vikings led the game 27-23 after the first quarter.

Ooks came out with great momentum at the start of the second quarter, managing to take the lead with great drives from Owen Weaver. Vikings defence struggled to defend against the Ooks ball movement and drives to the hoop. Vikings had slowly began to close the gap with fantastic shots from Brett Mueller Ooks had effectively shut out the Vikings with fantastic defensive systems holding their lead.

Ooks led the game 49-41 after the second quarter.

Ooks offence continued to broaden their lead with great outside shots from Yasser Abdullahi and Amari Lessa Linklater. Vikings struggled to generate offensive ball movement as the Ooks shut them out. Vikings seemed to gain some momentum late in the quarter with great shots from Marc Parma, but it still wasn't enough and Ooks held the lead into the fourth quarter.

Ooks led the game 75-59 after the third quarter.

Vikings continued to push however despite using the depth of their bench they were still shut out by the Ooks defence. Ooks continued to dominate the court both offensively and defensively with great plays from Yasser Abdullahi. Ooks held their lead winning the game.
