In the first game of the double-header weekend action in the snake pit, the Medicine Hat Rattlers hosted RDP on Friday January 19th, 2024.
In the first quarter the Rattlers came out to play, taking it 18-14. The second quarter saw RDP get rolling and they made the game closer, scoring 22, whilst the Rattlers scored 22. The Kings just could not find a way to get a steady lead going into the third quarter, only scoring 19, and the Rattlers put in 19. In the fourth quarter the Kings found a rhythm and took a lead only to see the Rattlers come right back, forcing overtime. In the final five minutes there was not much scoring, and the Rattlers found a way to build a small lead and hold on until the final buzzer. The final score was 90-87, Rattlers.
#14 José Mauro Barrozo Júnior of the Kings scored 23 points to lead his team, and #5 Deandre Row of the Kings brought down 5 rebounds on the night. On the Rattlers side of the court, #5 Kieran Isnor scored 27 points for the Rattlers, and #8 Jordan Biggar went 8 for 16 from the floor.
The Rattlers welcome the Kings back in the snake pit on Saturday, January 20 for an afternoon game.
